Was just listening to the radio again this morning. Their topic was about the cost of living and salary... The DJ's commented about girls that never study but spend all day flirting with guys, making themselves pretty and yakking away in class. In the end they get married to rich guys and spend their days lepakking in Bangsar, while the hardworking and studious girls slog away at their low paying jobs.
Somehow, it does sound rather true to me. Even if they don't get a rich husband, they can still do pretty well at sales jobs , hairdressing, etc etc... Seriously I think that looking decent, being able to give good advice and being good at communicating with others are ways to make it big in life. On the other hand, even if you do pretty well in studies, you might just end up in some office serving an ungrateful boss, that exploits you to the max.
I mean as of now, even those of my friends that didnt make to college are doing pretty good in their jobs/businesses now. Even those that were sleeping through college and making the rest of us suffer are doing fine. I seriously think that either fate is cruel or there is something wrong with our education system.

I guess both plays a part. Sometimes luck do takes us somewhere but it only plays a minimal role... while the rest is up to us.
Sometimes, these ppl sleeping away in class may not mean they don't study at home.
Haha, I dont mean sleeping literaly..I mean those sleeping group members that contribute nothing. Goodness knows how many we have encountered in college

its not really the studying-day-and-night thing or being so damn genious in ur college makes u rich & happy at the end of the day.
(but at the same time i dun think being stupid is a great thing either)
working hard is good..but u must be SMART.not just be like some goodie goodie person who follows all the rules of life and thinks tat tat would make him great in the end.
u must be evil sometimes..if u hav to.tats the world and u hav to face it.
gone were the days when u follow guidelines for everthing and think tat end of the day u will hav a big reward.dont dream.

It is a person's communication skills, your ability to interact with people that will bring a person far in working life. Of course, working hard and working smart is necessary in order to climb the corporate ladder fast. i mean if you are a boss, and you have one person who's hardworking but reaaaally lousy at interaction and you have another one who, altho not as hardworking, but very good at sweet talking, of course you'll tend to favour the other one more. After all, when meeting customers, first impression is very important right?
