Happy bday to u, u went to the zoo....

Yup, I actually went to the zoo to celebrate my birthday, though it didnt really turn out as expected bcoz "someone" was busy working. But that won't happen again, RIGHT? hahaa...anyway 3 of us ended up at the once KFC endorsed zoo negara. We noticed the abandoned KFC building was overrun by storks. I wonder what else has made their home inside...

Despite the rain and all it was pretty fun. Here are some pictures

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
hmm, what is this trap doing in the middle of the zoo? Maybe something has escaped.... and they didnt want to alarm the visitors, so they quietly set up a trap..there's a chunk of meat hanging inside too.

Ah, the bad hair day bantam, it was more friendly compared to the rest, the only one that doesnt run away when we try to touch it. The feathers were very soft.

The cute but evil goat. Do ask steffi for the evil goat video. We thought it was being affectionate but actually it was trying to kill us.

Uruk hai fan? Maybe the monkey has watched too much LOTR

King Kong (Spoiler Warning)

Yesterday was my day off. I took that opportunity to catch up with one of my old pals and also went to watch King Kong with her. Surprisingly a lot of traffic for a weekday outside the mall. We arrived 5 minutes too late to get our reserved ticket, but there were plenty of seats left after all.

The commercials went on and on until 15 minutes past the screening time stated on the ticket. Finally the show started. For a moment there I thought we had entered the wrong cinema, coz there were these charlie chaplin imitators prancing around on a stage. I took a while for me to remember King Kong's original setting was in that era. I actually expected it to take place in the modern era this time. Oh well....

Anyway, the show really exceeded expectations in terms of graphics and action. The dino vs Kong part was good, but the logic was way off. As if a dino happily gorging itself on a big hunk of meat would abondon its meal and do anything just to chomp a tiny human girl. Another part was when the dinos were half dead and tangled in vines off a cliff...yea, they could only think off chomping the girl and straining their last reserves of life to reach her despite the Kong pounding on their heads. Right... real logical....

As for the girl...well she showed promise in the beginning with an interesting personality and all... the she turned into a complete flop at the end of the movie. The ending was completely draggy. Kong gets shot by planes, girl cries and gets into Kongs way, Kong puts girl in safe place, girl climbs out again and gets into trouble, Kong saves girl and puts her back into safe place, girl gets out again... repeat repeat repeat until the last scene where girl and Kong stare at each other with sad faces. Repeat the plane shoots Kong and sad staring faces part a few more times..and the story ends....FINALLY. You cant expect people that have been sitting in a cinema for more than 3 hours and with full bladders to endure that type of ending comfortably. Me and my friend were like...."If you want to die, please..please just die... stop staring at each other already..." and "Haiyoh, that girl...keep crying and crying only..." If they had cut the ending part by half, it would have been much more acceptable...

Anyway I still think the movie is worth a watch, so for those of you who have nnot watched it, go knock yourselves out

I'm 22 for a moment....

Well after being sick for 1.5 weeks, I'm finally officially 22. Everyone goes like, oh you are still young, go chase your dreams, do whatever you want while you have the chance....I wish I was your age, yada yada.....

I maybe only be 22, but I feel old and jaded already. The world is changing, and not really in a good way either. I wonder how will things be like when I'm 40. Even now people are changing their gender until you cant tell who was originally what, little kids are killing their parents during their tantrums and and what not. Kids watch cartoons that I cringe at. Those with eyeballs being pulled out and tongues getting sawn off. Yikes, I really wonder what kind of people will they grow up to be. I'm starting to fear for my life, haha....

Kind of nostalgic to receive calls and sms from people that were once part of my daily life, but that I have not met for a long time. Its nice to remember the good times we had together, but sad that it probably will never happen again. I tend to keep thinking of "what was" instead of "what is". Must learn to appreciate what I have now instead of looking back.

I find myself still waiting for something to happen, something that will take me away from the mundaneness of daily life, something that will prod me to pack my bags and go seek my dreams. In the end I'm sure it is we ourselves who will make things happen. Its not much use just sitting and waiting. Oh well......there is always the hope that 1 million dollars will drop on my head someday, haha...yea right, dream on la....

Ok, enough of that, back to work ! :p

A Salty Lunch

Today my colleague A suggested that we go SS2 for lunch in his car. Now we were wondering how come he was so generous to offer to drive us there. Then in the car, J said , "Hah, you are going to SS2 to pay your car saman ! I knew you weren't that good to fetch us to SS2 for no reason" Then A was like " Yaya...." So we went looking for parking, and managed to find a place. Then A said, ok you guys go ahead, we eat at this shop la..I go and pay my saman 1st... with that, A took off in a hurry.

That was when V said, "What else is there to eat around here"? Then my senior said there was nothing much, but if he wanted we would walk around and see. So we walked and walked. Then J whispered to us "Actually V does not want to eat porridge..." Then my senior told him,"Eh, there got rice also u know..." V was like, "hmmm ok....anything la" but he kept on walking. So we followed him until wewere quite far away from where we parked. We ended up at this certain shop that sells noodles and fried rice. Then we made a call to A to ask him to meet us there.

Now the pony tailed shop owner came to take our order. One look at his sour face made us wonder if we had made the right decision in coming. Before we could finish making out orders, he went away. We started looking at each other... Then I told them, uh, I have not ordered yet... THen they said, "hmm..he seems tob e in a bad mood today la that owner.." When the fella came back with the drinks, I gave him my order, and he gave me this withering look that seemed to say " How dare you waste my time by ordering late , you low life!" I mean who could talk to a face like that? I was like stammering away..."Uh..I want.... Ngua lam noodles...." Then he snapped " What noodle ??!!" I was like "uhhh...kuey teow..." Then he took off. V made us laugh by imitating his "What noodle??!!" speech over and over.

OK, here comes the food. V took one sip of his soup and went "Urghh, its soo salty !!" Yea actually my soup was salty too. So we were eating and A came back. A lady came to take his order.

Waitress : What would you like?
A: (Looks at V's food) Hmm, I'll have this one la
V: (Mouth full of food) *shakes head vigorously at A
Rest of us: *trying to contain our laughter
A: Yea, I'll have what he is having
V: Almost chokes on his food trying to convey the "NOOOOO!!!!" message
Waitress (Looking at V's strange actions) Uh..ok... this dish is very nice one, good choice !
Rest of us: (could not contain laughther anymore) AHAHAHAHHAAHA hAHAHHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHA
Waitress: *Leaves the bunch of giggling fools(us)

A: What are you all laughing about? And V, what were you trying to do?
Rest of us : *faint from laughther overdose "WHY U SO BLUR ONE ! "

V complained that he shook his head until it hurt but still A could not get the message. Hopeless.......After that we had a good time reacting the scene over and over until A threatened to make us walk home. That didnt stop us from reacting the scene once we were in his car. :p

The though provoking jelly bean

Today my friend gave me a few jelly beans from Australia. As I chewed on that bean on the way to work, a thought struck me. This bean I'm currently chomping was in Australia, it was in places that I have never set foot in before..and now it has travelled all the way to Malaysia to get eaten by me. As I rolled the unfortunately bean in my mouth, savouring the sweet taste, I pondered on the bean's fate. Then I started pondering on my own fate. Obviously my life would have been different if I had gone to a different school, joined a different intake at college.... Where would I be now if I had taken a different course or if my family had moved to Rawang as we originally planned to?

My dad told me to take another course. What will happen if I take it? What will happen if i don't? Hmm, life is like those picture books that I liked to read when I was a kid. Those that go like,. To go down this Path turn to page 5, to stay there and wait turn to page 10. Eventually only certian paths lead to a happy ending.

Return from a fairly long break

Back to work again. A BIG SIGH..... Back to hearing everyones holiday stories, while I myself was stuck in KL, mostly at home too. Well anyway I watched 3 movies in a single day, 1 in cinema and another 2 on VCD.

Show 1- Sound of thunder

Comments - Lousy vcd, something wrong one. Show also like errrrr, nothing special and a bit fake.

Show 2 - Corpse bride
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

See the fella there? The story is about how he has to choose between those 2 ladies there. Difference being that one has a pulse and one does not. You see he was supposed to marry the one in the 2nd pic, but messed it up and got sort of married to the one in the 1st pic instead. Kinda funny actually, that story. One line I remember from the movie goes something like.. "Being alive is only a temporary state" which was what the corspe bride's friend was telling her regarding her so called rival (The guys real bride). Come to think of it, its rather true... all of us are only living in temporary bodies, in a temporary world...

Show 3 - Curse of the were rabbit

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Comments - Well I'm not quite a fan of those plasticin shows but this one is funny actually. Its about this pest control fella and his dog working hard to protect the villager's prize veggies for the veg competition. Then something went wrong with one of his experiments and out pops this were rabbit. I love the doggie, he's just too cute.

Do you know me?

If you are my friend, how many of the below do you actually know about me?

1. I'm a computer programmer. Amazing for someone who never passed her Add Maths until SPM and can't divide a food bill with government tax among 5 people.

2. I still look at the keyboard while typing and still type with 6 fingers (sometimes 3) despite having had a computer since I was 12.

3. I don't do housework unless you count cleaning up after my 2 royal bunnies. Then again its not in the house but outside.

4. I suffered from mild obsessive compulsive disorder when I was around 5 years old. It lasted for quite a few years until I lost the need for washing my hands 10 times a night. I still occasionally touch the corners of my bed before I sleep at night though.

5. There were 7 tanks of fish in my house at one point. At another point there were at least 20 hamsters. And I could tell all of them apart and knew each one of them. The fishes too.

6. I kept a diary since I was about 11. The first few entries included illustrations of my stray dog friends.(The illustrations are truly horrible)

7. When I was younger I could whistle any tune with my mouth closed. I still wonder how I was able to do that as I had lost the ability to do so when I hit secondary school.

8. I share the same birthmark as my dad. It’s somewhere on my tummy.

9. I wanted to be an artist when I was young. Looking at my past drawings makes me wonder how I ever got that idea.

10. I love computer games, PS games and anime. People go like.. but you are a girl ! And I go like, and so?

11. I must have tomato sauce with my KFC mashed potatoes. Guess what else I do to it before I eat it?

12. I don’t eat tomatoes, cucumbers, pineapple or watermelon.

13. And most amazingly for those of you that know me.. I used to have a very good sense of direction regarding roads when I was in kindergarten. I was also one of the top students there. Now, what has happened to me since then to totally twist all that ingenuity? I can’t even find my way out of a parking lot and I was a bottom feeder in class since primary school. I think it might have the trauma of suddenly switching to a Chinese school and being forced to learn an alien language. The effort must have killed off many of my brain cells. God knows.....

The blogger intro

This is an intro of my blogger friends,
the wacky fellas in my life.
The people that God sends
to create chaos, fun and strive.

First of all there is Steffi.
You could say she is rather wacky.
She likes guys that are sexy,
especially ang mohs rich and classy.

Then after that there is Ash,
better known as Lord Krakrash.
He likes watching WWF guys bash.
With all the ladies he is a smash.

Where is YS the programmer?
The first class guy and genius debugger.
But then we all seldom see this fella.
Dunno how long he hasn't been on Blogger.

Chun eng the lion dancer,
always quick to give a sarcastic answer,
especially when someone makes a blunder.
If he doesnt do that then its a wonder.

Philip is our vege and fruit eater,
and also a die hard carnivore basher.
He always claims Java is cooler,
But we all know much better.

Thus concludes the bloggers intro.
Hope all that was useful info.
When you see them you will know,
that what I typed isn't just for show.

* In response to a challenge by Lord Krakash. Hope you guys enjoyed it =p

Not the best way to start the week

Sunday :-
Mum : Lets go eat mamak
Me : Dowan, later food poisoning on monday

So me and sisters went to eat McD..

Monday :-
After tossing and turning on the bed at 6.30 am, finaly realised my stomach was going crazy. Argh !
Left for office at 7.30..unfortunately on the way out my stomach went crazy again. Nooooooo ! Thank God for petrol stations. I pulled over at one n went in. Now this particulat station has an indoor toilet. I know coz I have used it b4 in the past. So I entered n headed to the loo side. I turned the knob.... eh? It wont open... both of the toilet doors seem to be locked. So I went to ask the cashier.. Uh, can I use the toilet? The lady didnt even look my way as she mumbled something. I was like huh? I waited (as patiently as I could, considered the tummy ache) for her to finish counting a stack of money, then repeated my question. Without looking at me still, she mumbled something that souned like, "ada orang di dalam." Well fine then, so I went to stand in front of the loo again. Minutes later, the doors were still closed. no sign of activity whatsover inside, the light doesnt even seem to be on inside... Fine, since there was another petrol station just next to this one, I decided to try my luck there.

Later on, as what my friend told me, most probably the lady did not want the customers to use the toilet as it was meant for staff. Geez, at least she could have told me "you cant use the toilet" or "toiet only for staff" or "I have no energy to unlock the door bcoz of puasa" , its better than saying "ada orang" and making me standing in front of locked doors like an idiot.

Ok,at the next petrol station, I FINALLY got to use the loo.... upon getting out, my friend in the car was kinda like freaked out, guess what happened? I cant belive it either. Let me tell u the story from the eyes of a passerby :

Guy parked at petrol station was reading his newspaper. Suddenly he notices a lady in distress. She dashed out of the car she was sitting in, and then she was pressing both hands to the car and pushing, while frantically looking around. Upon meeting the guys gaze, she called him to help her. Curious, he went over to her.

Man: yes?
Lady: The car is moving, stop it! Help me !
Man: uh ok
(Man opens front door and pulls handbrake)
Lady: Thank you ! You saved me !
(Lady gets back into passenger seat of car)
Man: -_-

And that is what happened, said the lady that car pools with me everyday. Aparently I forgot to pull my handbrake.

Me: Why didnt u pull the handbrake? You also learn drivng b4 ma.
Lady: aiyo so long ago, cant remember adi la
Me: Uh, u actually got out of the car to tahan it
Lady: yalo, that was the only way i knew to stop a moving car
Me: -_-|||

A sleepy evening in the office

Senior: (gets up from my colleagues place behind me)
Me: "Eh wait, don't go back yet, I want to ask you something"

(As I was talking she was walking back to her place, so I was chasing after her)

Senior: (Seats herself at her place and looks at me puzzled) "Uh, I won't be going back yet."
Me: (*thinking Uh, but you are already back at your seat...) "Har?"

(We both stare at each other for a while)

Senior : "Its only 5 pm now, too early to go home ma"
Me: -_-

The real path to success?

Was just listening to the radio again this morning. Their topic was about the cost of living and salary... The DJ's commented about girls that never study but spend all day flirting with guys, making themselves pretty and yakking away in class. In the end they get married to rich guys and spend their days lepakking in Bangsar, while the hardworking and studious girls slog away at their low paying jobs.

Somehow, it does sound rather true to me. Even if they don't get a rich husband, they can still do pretty well at sales jobs , hairdressing, etc etc... Seriously I think that looking decent, being able to give good advice and being good at communicating with others are ways to make it big in life. On the other hand, even if you do pretty well in studies, you might just end up in some office serving an ungrateful boss, that exploits you to the max.

I mean as of now, even those of my friends that didnt make to college are doing pretty good in their jobs/businesses now. Even those that were sleeping through college and making the rest of us suffer are doing fine. I seriously think that either fate is cruel or there is something wrong with our education system.

Parking Etiquette

This morning on my way to the office from where I parked my car, I passed by the usual lorong and the usual cars... then I noticed some big notice pasted on the windshield of one of the cars. It read " This Taman has very limited parking, you have taken 2 parking spaces, please be more considerate in future" Then it struck me that one of the usual cars was not parked there. Aparrently this fella with the notice pasted on his car has parked kinda in the middle of the lorong, but not leaving enough space for another car to park in front of him. If only he had reversed a little more, then another car would be able to park there.

Suddenly I thought of when my friends asked me..why do I always park so close to the car behind me. You see I park along this playground(to avoid paying parking). More than 20 cars will be parked there everyday. There arent any boxes drawn on the ground so you can just park however you please. However when I park at a space that is large enough, I will always try to leave space for a 2nd car too park in front of me, because I know how difficult it is to get free parking...haha. I mean there have been sooo many times I was thinking, "aiya, if only this fella park one foot more to the front/back, then I can squeeze my car in la ! " So therefore I rather leave a space for another car to park comfortably rather than risk them trying their best to squueze in and scratching my car in the process.

Long live free parking !

Of fishes and cemetaries

Well in the afternoon I went to the Aquaria thing at the KL convention center. Being the kiasu person that we were, we parked at the rm 1 parking area and walked all the way to the convention center under the extremely hot sun. After reaching the Aquaria thing.. well, the car park leading to it to be exact..we were faced by a queue longer than a sea dragon. We actually thought the aquaria thing was at the end of the car park but nooooo, it was still a long way in. The staff told us that the wait for 2 hours. 2 freaking hours !! So we were like standing there and looking at each other. To wait or not to wait..then i guess our kiasuism got the better of us..since the price will go up after Hari Merdeka, so we just waited la. Aiyo, the car park was sooo hot la

So we queued, and queued, and queued some more... After 1.5 hours we finally got in. It was quite nice after all, only the crowd was a big turn off. Every single display had people cramming up in front of it. The tunnel was nice, its cool to see the sting rays swimming up above, they are the birds of the ocean because of the way they swim, kinda like flapping wings. Then there were the displays , the touch screens and this documentary thing. The fish look rather friendly, those in the large pools. I think the staff had their hands full as the kids were poking fingers everywhere and people were flashing cameras at the fishes every few seconds.

After about 45 minutes of going around the place, we went to the sovenier shop. Was tempted to buy a few things there but refrained due to the fact that I was broke.

Anyway that night on the way back from dinner, we went to collect our new digicam, yay ! The shop closes at 9.30 so we were kinda anxious to reach there before it closes.. We were soo close, just 10 minutes more...then suddenly my uncle called and said his car was stalled. So we had to go over to give some assistence... Of all places his car stalled next to the cemetary. So my sisters and I were like sitting in the car and waiting for my dad to diagnose the problem, but seems they had no clue. My uncle didnt apply for AAM either ! My sis was praying for God to send his angels to help. Haha, she was probably hoping we can reach the shop on time to get the digicam. Just kidding la girl.... But then suddenly i noticed that someone was behind our car, who is that? That person asked my mum, are u xxxxx's (one of the people we had dinner with ) friend? My mum was like yes... then he said.. I'm a repairman. I heard your car broke down, I'm here to see what is the problem. We were all like huh? My mum didnt tell any of her friends that my uncles car broke down.

Later on my mum realised she heard the wrong name... actually another car broke down a few hundred meters ahead of us, but hey, the repairman manage to figure out the problem, the riadiotor was leaking. So my dad sent us to get the cam, while he went back to get some water for my uncles radiator. ahahaha !

Casualties of vicious attacks

Newsflash -- Place : Jyrenze residence

Headless orchids and ferns and a naked shrub have been spotted at Jyrenze's residence of late. Eyewtiness have claimed that 2 furry long eared creatures are the culprits. "It was terrible !" said one of the residents of that house, who has prefered to remain anonymous. " One night the orchids were fine, the next day all the flowers were gone ! As though that was not enough, the following day all that was left were stumps !" The authorities urge all plant life to remain extremyly cautious... no one knows when the furry bandits will strike again.......

Farewell Lunch

We had our expensive farewell lunch for my colleagues at the Bukit Kiara horsey club yesterday. Has this 8 course meal or something like that. They took soo long to bring the next dish after we finihsed the first one. We were like starving to death la. Then after we told them they were a bit slow, the food started to appear a few dishes at a time.. aiya.... Maybe the waiter hates us for critisizing the food and service in front of him, hahaha.. What a dangerous thing to do in front of a waiter.

It was certainly an emotional time towrds the end, with the farewell "speech" and so on. I really hate changes of any sort, but life is full of changes, some for worst, some for better. Its a pity I could only know them for a short time, but I'm glad to have known them. Farewell and all the best !

My colleague was saying over our meal of "cheap" noodles today that this meal was better than yesterdays posh meal ... haha... cheap or expensive food, it is all just food la. But i was really stuffed to the max yesterday, we couldnt finish all the food.

HAze and candlelight dinner

The haze was at its worst yesterday. My colleagues and I even opened a msn discussion as to whether we should ask the boss to let us off early. No one seems to want to be the first to ask him....hahaha. In the end we went home at the usual time.

So i went to the little Leisure Mall for dinner last night. Me n YS were sitting at the food court were suddenly the lights started to flicker. YS jokingly said that if there was a power failure, we could have a candlelight dinner.. Not long after he said that...there really was a power failure at the food court section. The funny thing was, the staff brought candles on the little saucer we use to put soya sauce and chilli padi.. hey, perhaps this situation has happened before a few times.... how come the candles are not new? Anyway, we had like 10 minutes of candlelight dinner before the lights can back on, whereuopn the waiters blew out the candles and stored them away for um...future use.

Its unfair...why do so many of u not have to go to school/work today? * (Cries) ..... the haze is bad here too!

Mist continent

For those of you that remember Final Fantasy 9, our country has turned into something like the mist continent, where residents are afraid to go out incase some monster spawned from the evil mist comes out and eats them. It looked just like that this morning when I was driving to work.

It had better rain soon, I foresee myself falling sick if the haze goes on. Urgh.....

End of the world

The sky nowadays does look like those post apocalypt skies. Hazy and with the orange red sun.... I wonder how long our planet can last with humans poluting it everyday. Sooner or later the earth is going to spit us out, *thinks of recent earthquakes and tsunamis

Even doing small things like throwing rubbish in proper places and recycling can help a lot if everyone is willing to pitch in. Lets not be selfish coz this planet is the only one we have

Ants in the pants !?

Well, not really ants la, but anyway.... I changed my clothes, got into in the car, when I felt something bite me. Ouch ! I started slapping away at the pants, and shook it so that wwhatever it was would come out. Ok, I thought that was it... then we reached the restaurent, and sat down to order. OWWW, something bit me again ! I started whacking myself again..this time I could feel like there is something in my pants, but it wont seem to come out , Argh ! In my desperation I went to the toilet and shook out my pants. something dropped out..hmm, what could it be? I looked at the thing that dropped out, hmm, wings and legs..it looks squashed, very very squashed..my doing I suppose, hehe... looks like a bee or something similar. I wonder, how could a bee survive in my pants for so many days? It was all folded up when I took it n wore it earlier on. But then again, bees dont bite, maybe it stung me..ouch

Finally

Finally got my company email, and the 2nd boss asked me to send a mail to everyone in my company to indicate that was my email address. Then he asked me if I needed any help. Of course I said I can handle it myself, and I already had everyones email from a mail the admin sent to us 1 month back to announce something. So I logged into my hotmail, located the email and clicked reply to all. Ah, everyones mail appeared in the "To :" field. Now I'll just have to copy and paste it and send the email to all. So it went like "hi all, this is my email address....." ok, then click send... sucessful ! Then I suddenly realised to my horror that in my great wisdom, I had used my hotmail to send it, instead of the company mail in my outlook. Suddenly my colleagues started asking me in messenger, eh, aint that your hotmail? My goodness... even the bosses would have received that. I hurriedly resent the mail using outlook, but they said they cant receive it ! Arghh.... call myself a programmer, cant even make outlook express work, I'm going to crawl into a hole and die. In the end some said they got my mail and some said they couldnt get it. I kept resending the mail... in the end it seems to work. Seriously I wonder how many copies of my stupid mail my boss will find in his inbox this morning.. dont even dare to imagine... >.<

Hectic weekend and sleepy Monday

For the first time in my working history, I'm alone in the office during lunch hour! Not feeling too good today, so I decided not to follow the others out for lunch. Now everyone is out.. of course my boss will be back soon.. he usually has a very quick lunch.

What a hectic weekend I had. Saturday took my bunnies to see the vet, then ran here and there looking for a certain product but didnt manage to find it in the end. After that went to Bon Odori. Many girlswearing kimonos there... even saw a few cosplayers, Sasuke, Soujirou , Kikyou and a few others I could not name. I reached there at 5 +, it was extremely sunny and hot ! There were mountains of food for sale but the prices were not cheap as expected of japanese food. By the time it was 7 pm the crowd and grown to gigantic porportions... I stayed until the 2nd dance started, it was the same dance as the 1st time's, so we decided to make a move.

As for Sunday, after church I went to LM with CY.... my big mistake was following her into Watson. Ended up being 50 bucks poorer... Its only middle of the month but I'm already broke. Traffic jam all the way home (makes mental note to avoid Leisure mall on sundays)

If only I had my bosses chair, feel like sleeping now but the desk and chair are both too low.. sigh. I guess I'll go buy myself some food at tea time to make up for lunch.

After effects of Amityville horror

Being "all grown up" now, I have once again resumed watching horror movies as of 2 or 3 years ago till now. Before that I wouldn't touch any with a 10 foot pole, as after that I would be shivering in my bed for the next few weeks. Well anyway the past 2 or 3 years of watching horror flicks went well.. until I watched The Amityville horror last week. After that movie, I find my mind wandering and half expecting things to pop up around my room at any moment. Strangely this only takes place in the morning while I'm getting ready for work. Perhaps its because its the only time no one is at home except me. Even the squeaking of the dried flower wrapper makes when the fan blows on it sounds sinister. I even managed to shock myself in the bathroom today by mistaking a stream of water as some moving object. Maybe I should skip morning showers altogether until I pull my brain together. Let's see, it took me a few months to recover from watching "Critters" when I was in primary school. Lets see how long it takes to recover from the Amityville horror. Somemore this one based on true story... sigh...at least I dont live in that country.

Guys and girls as friends

THe topic early this morning on radio was... can guys and girls be friends. Of course some callers said yes, some said no. But the best one was the caller who said : " IF a girl says her best friends is a guy, then tis fine. If a guy says his best friend is a girl, there is something going on !" Haha, come to think of it, its true in a way. I mean if a guy already has a gf, and if he says his best friend is a girl, we would tend to feel that its wierd. Maybe its because guys are less able to "control" themselves and remain loyal? lol

This morning

This morning didn't exactly start off well. I was rushing to reach Catherine's house early so that we won't be caught in the jam. In the end, had to turn back to her house because she left something important behind. This is never a good start for any morning on the road. Fortunately I managed to reach office on time, even a little earlier than yesterday. In fact, there was no one in the office when I reached. Darn.... no one to see that I'm early, lol...

Malaysian idol judge Paul moss was on radio this morning ! Actually he's still on as of now. People were invited to call and ask Paul moss any question. Here is one of the examples :

Caller : bla bla bla... I think the singers are really lousy bla bla...
Paul : You know what, I think you just wanted to be on radio for the sake of it.... You are giving rubbish comments !
( They start argueing)
DJ's : Um ok, time out, next !

Sounds familiar? I suppose his style never changes

Radio

Yup, being on the road more than 2 hours each day, the radio is my trusty companion. You can really hear all sorts of things on the radio, and "meet" all types of people. Like this morning, the DJ's announced this contest to make someone's dream come true, and this guy called and said he wanted plastic surgery because he was too ugly and fat. Then the DJ's said they could solve his problem in 24 hours, just by putting him in the same room with one of the DJ's, becuase he cant be more ugly than him. Aiyoo, so bad la they...to their friend la i mean. Then again, radio DJ's aren't exactly hunks.... from what I've seen. They look complately different from how they sound, as what my friend told me. I think I really have to agree to that.

Then there was the news about this lady going to sue NASA for screwing up her astrological calculations because one of their space thingys hit an asteroid or something. Nowadays living in those ang moh countries must really keep people on their toes. It seems that people can sue for anything and everything.

So far I've never called in to voice my opinions on the radio or to participate in any of their contests. Maybe I'll try it out someday, hehe...

Holiday? + Party World

Last week my senior went to Korea, this week another collegue went to bangkok, and this saturday (tomorrow) I will be going to..... Genting highlands. Well, its not really a holiday actually, but a church camp. I missed the 1st day of it bcoz of work, anyway it would be nice to be away from kl for a change, even if just for one night. Must save $$ so that I can go for holiday overseas too ! My bunnies will have to watch out for themselves tomorrow. Hope they don't destroy their cage and all thats in it before I get back.

Oh yea, on Thursday i went to our customer's shop for the 1st time. Actually since my collegue had to deliver some hardware there, we decided to eat there as well. So off all of us went to Ikano, and we were hanging around at the customer's shop. For us new staff, being the sakai's that we were, we examined every item in the shop. They really sell a lot of strange items, all related to throwing a kids party. They even had Willy Wonka sweets there like the everlasting gobstoppers from the book. One unique thing they sell that we seldom find in malaysia is this :

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

What is this? My collegue said maybe it was for burning at Qing Ming, where they burn those paper stuff to ancestors. We all laughed like crazy. Actually it is a pinata, A paper thing filled with sweets to be knocked with a stick by a blindfolded person. I think it originated from Latin America or something. I never saw one of those before except in books.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
At the party world, they sell many pinatas, shapes ranging from horses to footballs. They remind me of lanterns, hung up in shops during mooncake festival, only these were made of of some sort of paper

Of petrol prices, zombies(me) and bunnies....

Everyone says the petrol prices have gone up as of today. Not sure about since I have not actually checked, but its certainly not good news for me, travelling 70 km a day, even a 10 cent increase affects me quite significantly. Of course I could increase my passenger fees... but I'm sure my passenger would look at me with puppy eyes if I did that.
Well I guess I'll wait till the next petrol hike then, haha... As I hear all the aunties and uncles saying " Aiya, petrol go up, everything also go up but salary still the same". Hmm, should I tell that to my boss after my probation? He would probably advice me to move to PJ then, haha. The traffic jams everyday are really sapping my energy.

My line at home was down again last night, aparently affected my area. Good thing I still had animes to watch, or I would have gone crazy. Anime's are like brain food to me now, but sometimes when I get home, I'm too tired to watch any...almost sounds unbelivable, but it is true. I'll be dead tired yet not willing to sleep so early because when I wake up, it would be time for work again. So i force my zombified self to stay awake and at least chat on msn and check my mail, since I have no energy to do anything else... Ya, the only other thing is to sit on my porch with a newspaper while bunnies hop around me, literally...

Speaking of bunnies, my little Smurfy will take off if I approach her. But if I sit quietly she will come, looking at me like I'm some dangerous animal. then she will stretch her body until she loosk like ses going to topple over, and nudge me with her nose, then she'll run away at top speed. Its like a person touching anapparently dead monster, then when it moves, he runs for his life screaming, Its alive its alive !!!

In the company....

We had a company meeting yesterday evening. I can tell u that everything the boss said had a hidden meaning behind.

Boss : After going through the work done in the last few weeks, there is something i want to tell all of you..
Meaning : If I don't go through your work, who knows what horrors you all will do to the system, therefore i want to highlight ur dumb mistakes once again..

Boss: bla bla.. so as you can all see, if you do it in this way, imagine how many records will have been locked, causing a serious lack of resources and bla bla...
Meaning : Because of what you have done, we almost released a program that would have our customers sueing our pants off when thier whole system crashes

Boss : Can anyone answer this question?
Meaning: Anyone wants to show me that its not a total waste of hiring him?

'Boss : None of you gave an accurate answer. If I were your teacher I would have failed you guys, hahaha
'Meaning : There goes your bonus and increment for this year. (Insert evil laughther)

Haih

The beginning of a deary day. I left my handphone at home, and most probably on top of my rabbit cage. My bunnies will probably be chewing on it by the time I get back. sigh..... It isnt even lunchtime yet

Curse words

Hm, I for one seldom use any curse words. I used to hate it when people used them around me, but nowadays its so common that I'm used to hearing them used all around, even by girls and small kids. Anyway I heard on Hitz.fm today about using alternate words to express your frustrations. Some of the words suggested by the callers were quite funny. Take for example, someone suggested using the word 'fish' to replace the commonly used 'F***' Imagine someone going like "Oh FISH ! I missed the bus again, FISH it ! FISHHHHHH !"

Monday oh Monday......

I'm so sleepy... Somehow anything less than 8 hours of sleep is just not enough for me. WOrking seems to sap energy from my life.

Today I heard on radio about the DJ and his friend who would drive around the parking lot of the office and keep honking. Then all the office people who double parked would come rushing out to see if its their car blocking someone. Really, like that also can... should have done that during college days, but it probably would have been useless since the car park is not exactly near enough to the classrooms for any honking to be audible. I remember that double parkers usually leave thier handphone numbers on thier windscreens. The worse kind are those that dont, and even the security gueards cant do anything about them....then we would be forced to wait up to an hour for the owner to arrive. Such inconsiderate people deserve to have their cars scratched and dented.

Few days back I also read in the papers about this officer that is in trouble for failing a girl's driving because she refused to bribe him. About time they did something like that, I was also a victim of these greedy officers 4 years ago. I'd rather resit the test than put money in their pockets. I mean this has been going on for like how many years, its almost part of Malaysian culture.

Sigh, the boss still hasn't assigned work to me yet. Having nothing to so is fine, but sitting in a location where your boss can see everything that goes on at your monitor is not fine at all.... have to try to look busy even when I'm not

One hot afternoon during lunch hour....

(Everyone) : bla bla and bla .......
(QA person) : Say, I wonder who put all those strange names into our database
(Programmer) : What names?
(QA person) : Under suppliers, someone put names like Lala, Halo, XXYYZZ..
(Me) : (gulps) Uh, you can just delete those right?
(QA person) : No, that person also tied them to other records already, so they cant be deleted. Whenever we print out sample reports for the boss, those wierd names are all there.
(Me) :(Sweats)Oh I see....... (Tries to look innocent)

My weekend

Well I had a pretty busy weekend, I should say. Sat morning went to return my friend's graduation gown and collect my photos and cert in APIIT TPM. Went through their collection of pictures snapped on graduation day and found a few of myself and even one of my parents registering for the convo. There was alaos this pic of me trying to adjust that stupid hat. I tell you that hat was the bane of my life. Its too large and keeps dropping off or going senget. Had to pin 6 pins on it just to keep it in place. There were pics of gradautes throwing their motar boards up in the air. Too bad I missed that part, I actually wanted to do the same but also a bit afraid of losing the hat, hehe..that would be good bye to my deposit.

Well we were rushing to get the gown deposit, collect our transcripts and order the additional photos as we were going to catch a movie (Ghost train) later on. After rushing there and getting lunch, we got to the cinema just in time. The show wasn't as scary as I thought it would be, a good thing too.... but I didnt really get some parts of the story.

On sunday after church I had to dress up in that cumbursome gown again to take pictures with my grandfather and family. After that i went for another movie. Got home at 10, took my bath and went straight to bed. Well that pretty much sums up my weekend. Now that i'm working, I'm pretty desperate to fully enjoy my weekends, haha...

The area behind my office......

Just back from lunch. As soon as I sat down, I heard a guy yell loudly behind my office area. Must have been pretty loud for us in front of the office to have heard it. No one seems interested to investigate though. The lorong behind my office is a shady area filled with the sound of electric drills, speeding cars and banging noises. I think there is a car garage behind there. Just last week one of my collegues witnessed 2 parang wielding , bike riding criminals trying to rob a lady. FOrtunately they failed as other people in the area honked at them and scared them off. Looks like I won't ever be parking there, although its near to my office. Better just take a short walk everyday. Even the cleaner lady brought her son along today, her "bodyguard", she was saying. Its just not safe these days........

The end of a long day

My 1st full salary is finally in ! Unfortunately there won't be much left after paying my dad back for petrol and toll costs + my phone bill. My mum even suggested I help her pay her car's road tax/insurance this year. T_T

There were 2 new guys in today. boss decided to giv them a long lecture on our system, and asked me to listen too. It lasted for the whole day......

Still alive after all

Was half dead when I reached home yesterday. Suddenly got fever after lunch, though not surprising as I already had sore throat and flu. The graduation ceremony must have been the last straw. So hot and packed full of people...and that heavy n hot gown was killing me ! So I went straight to bed after dinner and 2 panadols, and slept till this morning. Feel much better today.

Both today and yesterday I encounted drivers and made me want to throw something at them. Yesterday when I reached the place i normally park my car (beside the playground) there was this guy that just entered his car. I thought he was going to drive off so i waited behind. Then that fella saw me and motioned me to keep going. He kept waving his hand at me so I thought he wasnt going to go out after all, so I drove on. Right after I passed his car, he came out of the parking. I was like .....

Then this morning there was this taxi driver that stopped in the middle of a road next to a junction. He was blocking half of the road. There was still enough space for me to turn into the junction so I did. Then when I was about to pass his car from behind he suddenly reversed and almost hit me. LAter on when my car passed by his car he still had the nerve to glare at me like it was my fault. sigh, crazy drivers.......

zzzzzzzzzz

Man I felt so sleepy this morning, I thought it was 5 something when I woke up. Who knows it was already almost time to get up. I kept hitting the snooze on my alarm. Of course in the end I was late going out, but still managed to reach my office parking area around 8.40. I picked up my dad's book, something about how to make money. After reading a couple of pages I realise all those books that talk about making money all talk about getting into those multi networking something or other thingys. Basically it will involve turning into one of those anoying people that call up and prattle about how much money they are earning (or going to earn) by doing the networking thingy, and trying to persuade all their friends to join.

I don't really deny that this kinda thing can make big bucks in the long run, but how many of them actually suceed? If it were so easy then all those housewives and such that are participating in the networking thingy would already be millionaires by now.

The authors quote : Its better to earn 1% from 100 peoples efforts than 100% from your own effort.

My quote : Its better to put in 100% of your effort in making money rather than annoy the heck out of everyone you know in order to try and get rich.

Conclusion: Money never comes easy no matter what tactic you use. Don't be "one of those irritating people" yto our friends just because of some supposedly get rich one day scheme.

One of those quizzes

Hmm do you all think its accurate?hehe

You Are From Jupiter

You are exuberantly curious - and you love to explore newness.
Enthusiastic and optimistic, you get a kick out of stimulating intellectual discussions.
Foreign cultures and languages fascinate you. You love the outdoors, animals, and freedom.
Chances are you tend to exaggerate, so try to keep a lid on that.
If you do, you'll continue to be known for your confidence, generosity, and sense of justice.

Since I started working...

Since I started working,

1) I'm turning into an indian. No matter how much sunblock, sunshades, whatever I use, I'm getting darker and darker due to the extremly unpredictable and hot sun shining on me during lunch hour.

2) I had my first full blown migrane that left me completely unable to do anything. Wonder if its due to computer computer and more comuter day and night.

3) Im spending a fortune on biscuits and instant milo/horlicks/tea

4) Backaches are killing me. I really need a live-in masseur.

5) I'm unable to sleep past 10 am anymore even on weekends and holidays. My eyes open at 7.15 everyday even if I dont set any alarm

6) I fully appreciate the wonders of unlimited broadband. A day when the internet connection is down during a boring day at work is like a death sentence.

7) Saturday is no longer a day to sleep in. Its the only day available to get anything done especially if it involves banks and other government buildings

8) I look at my sisters and wonder how they manage to sleep later than me everyday and wake up earlier than me to prepare for school. Come to think of it I also did the same thing in my schooling days. Sigh, I must be getting old.

9) I wonder why I did not skip more classes during college. I dont even have the chance to do that now.

10) Paying for your own everything evolves a person into a Mr/Mrs kiasu. I'd still rather walk under the hot sun to the free parking area everyday and spend a fortune on sunblock than park in front of my office and pay rm 4 a day. I really ask myself whats the logic in this, but cant come up with any answer.

Getting a job

There was this guy that was supposed to start work today in my company. He didnt show up. Perhaps he got a better offer at a different company. Come to think of it, I faced a simlar situation when I first started work. Its wierd that I was worrying one time about why no one called me for any interview, and then suddenly there was one interview after another. After that I got 2 job offers, one after another. Its hard choosing between jobs. I mean that kinda choice sort of determines the next few months/years of your life. I would say that around 40% of my friends who were my classmates have not gotten a job yet, of coz some have not even started to look for one. I cant imagine rotting at home for so many months though

What is interesting?

Seriously I wonder how would anything interesting ever happen in my current working life. Everything is repeated with few changes everyday, apart fromt hat strange fella yesterday at the car park that thought I was malay and tried to get my mobile number. Today is a dark and gloomy day. Looks like its about to rain any moment. Alright, back to the programming for now. The end of the week is near !

Tenaga national ...

After being in an hour long traffic jam yesterday night, I arrived home to find it pitch dark. Follwoing was torchlight(not candlelight) dinner, and a long long night.... The last straw was hearing the tenaga national Ad on radio this morning "Powering the nation" or something like that. I wanted to throw something at the radio.

Just another rainy monday

The day passed by fast enough today, as it always does when I have work to do. Went to the next door petshop today to see their wedding photos. To tell the truth, I could not recognise the girl......The pics were like so cun and cheap, and if not mistaken taken near my place. Next time I also want to take pic there lo.... He even brought his pets along for the photoshoot! One cockatoo, one little bird and 2 snakes. The fella was saying, the people in the pics were not them at all, haha. I guess most wedding pics are similar, as in they make the original people unrecognisable. Tje guy was practically screaming out his stress at wedding preperations, while his fiancee was cool as a cucumber. I thought it was usually the other way round for couples. I couldnt help laughing at him really, and he was like, laugh la, wait till its your turn. haha, wont be my turn for a long time yet....

Life on the streets

Just reflecting on my life on the streets, I mean jamming on kl's streets. It takes me 1 hour to get to office and almost an hour to get home. That makes it 2 hours a day, 10 hours a week, 40+ hours a month..almost 500 hours a year... wow.. thats like 20 full days on the road each day, imagine that.... when will humans invent transporters?

However i'm sure some of us enjoy the time spent driving, a time to update ourselves with the radio, or just enjoy a quiet moment to ourselves away from other people. Hoever one thing I still cant get used to is traffic jams that last more than 30 minutes. The car is not moving slowly nor it is at a standstill. it moves for 1 or 2 seconds, then stops for 5 seconds, n repeats the process over n over for a few km, How dreadful.... I'd rather just stop there until the cars in front move a quite a far distance away then just cross the distance in one go.. but of coz tats impossible as ill certainly get honked at and overtaken.

I was so bored one day that I even took pics of the jam...

TMnet service thumbs down

After promising to come and fix our line problem since last week, the tmnet people finally arrived at around 5 pm, when it was almost time for us to go back. In the end they couldn't really fix the problem, so we have to use a temporary line, sigh... seems like the more customers they have, the worse the service gets. Since i couldn't online, i just picked up my reader's digest to read when I reached office, then the boss who happened to come early today came and asked me is it I have already finished all the work assigned to me yesterday. Sigh..

Feel sleepy now, must be getting old, haha......

Monday blues

Is it my imagination or did everyone look more gloomy than usual today. Yet another weekend has gone pass and a new week has started. My office line down today, so painful for me, haha.... can't use it to send my daily free sms or update my blog. Today of all days I forgot that my mum took my bag out of my car and went to work without it. Good thing I took out my wallet and other essentials earlier on.

To tell the truth I've always liked Mondays. I really don't know why, maybe because its like the start of a brand new week. A time where I'm refreshed after the weekend. Of coz for those that spend their weekends staying up at night, it might be a different story all together. What I really feel about Monday is, it passes by very quickly, in no time at all, half the week is gone, the week comes to an end, and a brand new week starts again. The pace of life is frightening... and it passes by faster the older we get.

Today marks the day that I have been working for excactly one month. How do I feel about it? Well, for some reason I'm still searching for something I really have the passion for, hope I'll come across it in the near future. In the meantime, everythings still fine.

Hope the line at work is fixed tomorrow....

Mother's day

Just back from Mother's day dinner, stomach full of gas now from the drinks. The wing court surprisingly got quite a number of ppl. I thought Plaza Phonix is practically a ghost town now, but apparently its not quite as dead as I thought.

The food was quite a long wait, so I entertained myself with calculating petrol and toll cost on a paper napkin with my dad's ball pen. In conclusion, I should just stay in my dad's friends house near my office. hahahaha, easier said then done. have already been thinking get getting an extra job to earn some additonal income. Maybe I can be an Ah mat to the lady that needs a lift to Mount Kiara. I call it Ah Mat, not car pooling, coz its not really on the way anyway. An extra passenger means no more last minute dressing/ wearing shoes/eating n throwing garbage and tissues everywhere in the car anymore. sob sob... hav to be so civilised la. Anyway see how la

My 1st post

Um, what can I say here? Mainly the reason I created this is so that i can have a record of what I have done. Since last year I have been too lazy to write in my diary, and therefore 1 year's worth of memories are in peril of rotting away in the swamplands of my brain.

Also most of my friends have blogs now, so I'm just joining the blogging gang. Can't think of anything esle to write now, till the next post then....
