Yesterday was my day off. I took that opportunity to catch up with one of my old pals and also went to watch King Kong with her. Surprisingly a lot of traffic for a weekday outside the mall. We arrived 5 minutes too late to get our reserved ticket, but there were plenty of seats left after all.
The commercials went on and on until 15 minutes past the screening time stated on the ticket. Finally the show started. For a moment there I thought we had entered the wrong cinema, coz there were these charlie chaplin imitators prancing around on a stage. I took a while for me to remember King Kong's original setting was in that era. I actually expected it to take place in the modern era this time. Oh well....
Anyway, the show really exceeded expectations in terms of graphics and action. The dino vs Kong part was good, but the logic was way off. As if a dino happily gorging itself on a big hunk of meat would abondon its meal and do anything just to chomp a tiny human girl. Another part was when the dinos were half dead and tangled in vines off a cliff...yea, they could only think off chomping the girl and straining their last reserves of life to reach her despite the Kong pounding on their heads. Right... real logical....
As for the girl...well she showed promise in the beginning with an interesting personality and all... the she turned into a complete flop at the end of the movie. The ending was completely draggy. Kong gets shot by planes, girl cries and gets into Kongs way, Kong puts girl in safe place, girl climbs out again and gets into trouble, Kong saves girl and puts her back into safe place, girl gets out again... repeat repeat repeat until the last scene where girl and Kong stare at each other with sad faces. Repeat the plane shoots Kong and sad staring faces part a few more times..and the story ends....FINALLY. You cant expect people that have been sitting in a cinema for more than 3 hours and with full bladders to endure that type of ending comfortably. Me and my friend were like...."If you want to die, please..please just die... stop staring at each other already..." and "Haiyoh, that girl...keep crying and crying only..." If they had cut the ending part by half, it would have been much more acceptable...
Anyway I still think the movie is worth a watch, so for those of you who have nnot watched it, go knock yourselves out

if let said King Kong fight with giant lizard, then is still reasonable la....since tat jungle produce GIANT species...

Thats y I said the logic is off. Cinema online gave the plot 3 stars rating only. The rest got high rating la.. basically we watch this show for the effects, hehe....
with a review like that, I'd lost all the interest to watch alr...

Anyway, the poster of Dino and King Kong itself looks weird already. They just don't go hand in hand.

You should still watching in cinema, the graphics r cool. Just be prepared for the long ending scene..hehe

yea, poor depreived kong got no gorrila gf, so he had to get a human one instead
i like the movie but as u said some scenes doesnt make sense. anyway, the ending would b better if she jumped off the building after kong fell, hehe.. the fact dat her boy toy came to "rescue" her and they hugged kinda spoil the movie.. both me n my brother feld the same haha.. just imagine dat, u jump i jump LOL
